'Battery energy storage system' planned for East Lothian

PLANS for a "battery energy storage system" will be revealed next month.

Both West Barns Community Council and neighbouring East Lammermuir Community Council have been alerted to FRV TH Powertek's proposals.

A brief document lodged with East Lothian Council's planning department notes the development is planned for land west of the B6370, which connects Stenton to the A1, and near Belton House. However, it gives no further details on what is proposed.

The ward's three councillors – Donna Collins, Norman Hampshire and Lyn Jardine – have also been notified.

A public consultation takes place between 2.30pm and 8.30pm in West Barns Bowling Club on June 13.

Developers will then return with updated plans, this time visiting Stenton Village Hall on July 6 between the same times.
