Verano Energy starts building 76

Verano Energy, a renewable energy developer in Latin America, commenced the construction of eight solar projects in Chile with a total capacity of 76 MWdc (59 MWac). These projects are run through EPC and O&M contracts with Fontus Renewables, a subsidiary of EnfraGen.

Fontus develops, owns, and operates renewable energy projects in Chile and Latin America. Its solar PV assets have driven the expansion of its existing renewable energy portfolio, supporting Chile's energy transition to become a regional leader in renewable energy adoption.

Founded in 2012, Verano owns deep experience in various aspects of renewable project development in Latin America, including design, financing, construction and asset management. In recent years, the company has also acquired solar projects to scale up its portfolio.

The EPC contract is the largest third-party one for Verano. Fontus is confident in the EPC services Verano provides to construct these solar projects on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

"We have developed considerable in-house experience by building and operating our own projects, and have decided to take advantage of our world class internal team to offer third-party EPC contracts. We're extremely excited about extending our services to build these projects for Fontus," said Dylan Rudney, CEO of Verano Energy.

These eight projects will participate in Chile's PMG/PMGD programs, providing automatic grid access and a stabilized pricing scheme.
