Solis’ New Inverter To Make Solar Energy Accessible To More Middle

The S6 Advanced Power Hybrid Inverter, launched during the Future Energy Show Philippines, can work as an independent power center to help meet the power demands of a Filipino Household.

To address the problem of unstable power supply causing frequent interruptionsin Filipino households, companies are taking steps to make solar technologymore accessible to middle-income families.

Among the companies leading this initiative is Ginlong (Solis)Technologies, which recently unveiled its S6 Advanced Power Hybrid Inverter inthe Philippines during the Future Energy Show 2023. The company aims to empowermore Filipino families by providing them with easy access to solar powertechnology.

According to Solis After-sales Support Engineer, John Karlo de Guzman,"Our focus is to help middle-class Filipinos gain access to renewableenergy technology. By introducing the S6 Advanced Power Hybrid Inverter, we areenabling households to have a reliable and uninterrupted power supply, ultimately improving their quality of life."

Solis’ newest technology, with added generator connections and controlfunctions, works as a fully independent power center to meet the needs ofFilipino residential and C&I markets, where power interruptions occur, especially during the summer due to high power demand.

"So we know that in the Philippines, there are some powerinterruptions lately, especially in summer. So using S6 hybrid on-grid, youwon't experience power interruption when the distribution utility [can't]supply power from the grid," de Guzman said.

Solis’ newest product, the S6 Advanced Power Hybrid Inverter, isequipped with enhanced connectivity and control capabilities allowing easyincorporation with generators thanks to the multiple input methods andautomatic on/off control. Furthermore, it comes with an automatic UPS switchthat allows households and businesses to manage power outages.

The product has Six operating modes; the work mode, where the inverteris in energy storage mode, and uses the available PV power to support homeloads; the self-use mode stores excess PV power unto the battery; thefeed-in-priority mode which would export the excess PV power after the homeloads are supplied; the off-grid mode where the systems can be used in caseswhere power is not connected to the grid; and the back-up mode, which can beused during the self-use or feed-in-priority mode.

As electricity prices continue to rise, the installation of Solis’ newproduct, equipped with a solar PV system, can help generate savings in aresidential home.

"Using the generator and PV itself with the S6 inverter, I think itcan [save] up to 60 to 80% of the monthly consumption or monthly electricalbill," de Guzman said.

Furthermore, the S6 Advanced Power Hybrid Inverter can be connected tosmartphones via bluetooth or WiFi, allowing Filipino households to easilynavigate through the product depending on their current needs.

The S6 Advanced Power Hybrid Inverter can also accommodate up to sixconnections in parallel, with a maximum total load of 48 kilowatts (kW), with a10-second 200% surge backup overload capability.

The hybrid inverter is compatible with lead-acid and lithiumbatteries, with multiple protection features, allowing the product to be as flexibleas possible.

"This flexibility avoids over-specifying higher capacity inverters, PVarrays, generators, and batteries than necessarily required, with considerableCAPEX and OPEX savings over our competition. Users can be confident of aseamless supply during grid interruptions, even for the most sensitiveelectronic equipment," Solis Country Manager James Frank said.
