Bill would promote research on farming under solar panels

A bill was introduced May 31 in the U.S. Senate aimed at boosting research on agrivoltaics systems, arrangements that combine agricultural production with solar panels.

An example of an agrivoltaics system is one in which sheep or cattle graze under solar panels. Other examples include growing vegetables or pollinator-friendly plants in solar panel systems.
